This Vintage Norseman Double Hose Regulator has never been used. In original packaging. Manufactured circa 1962 by Aerotec Industries Inc. Aircraft Division in Greenwich, Connecticut. Manufactured for the Navy Department Bureau of Ships. The earlier Viking regulator produced by Aerotec in the mid 1950's was tested in conjunction with the US Navy's Experimental Dive Unit. Improvements were included in a later version of the Viking produced in 1958. This excellent regulator, the Norseman was produced as the culmination of this and earlier research. The rubber hoses may have folded in storage over time, they most likely have microfissures, and would not be safe for actual use. It is possible that they can be softened with a little heat and opened up again. It still smells like a new product. I have not tested this unit. It is complete as you see it here, with manuals and manufacturer included tools. (spanner pliers and a hex wrench still in original packaging) A truly rare item! There were likely only around 150 produced. You can learn more about the history with an online search, I can't put any links in here. NOTE ON THIS UNIT: This is the very last of its kind. This regulator box was opened many years ago, but sat in its closed up box within the original crate for many years. It was never used for Scuba Diving.
