    Description

hyalyn porcelain company (Hickory NC - late 1940's-early 1970's) made numerous high-quality mid-century style pieces.
This narrow rectangular dish definitely has an interesting mid-century shape & molded design on the top rim.  It has a rich burnt orange & mottled cocoa brown glaze.  It is about 12-1/4 inche
s long & 5 inches wide.  The sides curve from the top rim to the base that is about 8 inches long & 2-1/4 inches wide.  The top rim sits about 2-1/4 inches off the table.  As with many hyalyn pieces, t
he bottom is covered with cork to protect the surface of the furniture.  Very white fired clay typical of hyalyn pieces show around the edges of the cork.  The cork has the oval
hyalyn stamp, but no shape number.
This dish is in excellent vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing.
