Description
For your consideration I have this tough to find tin toy from the 1950's.....a battery operated Blacksmith Bear made by A-1 Co. in Japan. He is in mint condition and fully functional with many great actions. The toy runs on two "D" size batteries. When powered on, the Blacksmith Bear's eyes light up (the wires going from his body into his head are still securely intact), he leans over and aggressivelyhammers away at the horseshoe over the lighted/flashing anvil, a realistic "clang" sound is heard each time he hammers, he periodically stands up, turns to his left, moves the horseshoe back and forth over the fire a few times, his head turns side to side to examine his work, he then proceeds back to hammering and the actions repeat. Really a great toy from this era and not one you see often, especially in this condition. The tin is shiny and the battery compartment is clean. There are only a few light scratches and marks in spots on the tin litho that may very well have been there from time of manufacturing. The original box remains solid, has great color and some really amazing graphics! There is a little shelf wear present, particularly along one edge of the lid which was tape repaired from the inside. To note: the Blacksmith Bear's head is removable for storage inside the original box. You will want to be careful when handling his head as two wires run up into it from inside his body.
The toy measures 6 1/2" x 4" x 9". The original box is 7 1/2 " x 7 1/2" x 4 1/2".

SHIPPING: All items typically ship within 1 business day of cleared payment. I also combine shipping to save money when possible. For buyers within the United States, if you win more than one auction, please wait for me to send you a combined shipping invoice. If purchasing more than one “buy it now” item, simply add them to your cart and select “request invoice from seller” on the checkout screen. This will send me a request for a combined shipping invoice. If for some reason items cannot be shipped together, I will let you know.
For international sales, I use the Global Shipping Program and they do not allow combined shipping. Each item will need to be paid for individually, including the shipping costs, and they will be mailed in separate shipments.

If there is an issue with your item or shipment, please contact me immediately to see if we can work something out. If an item ends up getting damaged or lost in transit, I will handle matters on my end. For international sales, as already mentioned above, the Global Shipping Program is responsible for all issues with damaged or lost items once they leave the shipping center.
