    Description

Ever wonder how Bloomers were named???? Well this historic little lady is behind it all~!  She’s very interesting as the paper with her identifies her as the woman we got the “Bloomers” name from~!  She stands approximately 8 inches tall and has a well painted porcelain head, half arms and half legs with a soft body.  Her head is jointed and turns from side to side and she has black painted/molded flat shoes and stockings.  She is very well made with a matronly little face that has darker brown nicely arched multi stroke painted eyebrows, painted brown eyes with medium brown painted lower lashes and a light brown line on her eyelids.  There is a small rose colored dot at the inside corner of each eye.  She has high blushed cheeks and a long rose colored smile as well as a little rose colored spot in each nostril.  Her hair is a reddish brown, feels like a mohair wig parted in the middle and pulled back in a bun at the back of her head. Very prim and proper~!  I cannot tell if she has markings on the back of her head, her hair comes down too far.   Her face is full of expression~!
She is well dressed in period attire with a dark green just below the knees skirt with a black kind of floral print, a long sleeved black jacket with a long pleated ruffle around the waist and a cream colored ribbon with a pink flower and green stem attached tucked under her chin. A small bit of white lace decorates all around the neckline. And of course she has her long black bloomers~!  Her clothing is sewn on and very well made.
She may have been on display as her black jacket has a little bit of a dusty look, not much, but not new looking either.  She has her paper with her that identifies her as Amelia Jenks Bloomer and a little bit of her history.  She is a unique and a very well dressed historic lady~!
