Description

vintage early 1950s 'On-Vehicle' Wheel Balancer from Hunter Engineering -- included is the model 106-A Wheel Spinner, and a wheel balancer unit with case, as well as instructions for both units -- the balancer has four 'geared' adjustable brackets enabling this to work on 13, 14 and 15 in. wheels -- the wheel spinner has cast aluminum body -- the motor is 115 V AC or DC / 10 amp / 25-60 cycles
-- this was the machine that launched the Hunter Engineering Company into prominence: the last picture is from the company web site and shows a sales brochure from 1949 --
-- the spinner main body measures app. 19 by 28 in. -- the entire unit is about 56 in. long
/ the balancer case is about 16 in. across
--
--
some overall wear from time and use -- motor is a bit noisy and needs lube but spins like crazy / balancer has no fastening brackets or hooks to secure it to the wheel (these will need to be made before this can be used - manual has pictures of the two fastening systems)
